The Top 10 Family Travel Tips From The Experts...
Whilst inevitably so much changes when you become a parent (hello sleepless nights, goodbye makeup and going to the toilet in peace), Tiny Travelship is here to prove that your love of travel is one thing you do not need to sacrifice for your babe. With careful planning, and packing, it is possible to enjoy a holiday (in the pre-child sense of the word) with tots in tow.
1. Use tinytravelship.com
For the ultimate hassle free holiday make use of tinytravelship.com. Filter holidays by the age of your children, weaning and sleeping requirements and distance from the airport, as well as the details important to you. Plus, follow on Instagram for daily family friendly inspiration, itineraries, insider reviews and the chance to share your own recommendations.

2. Go hands free
We all know parents need octopus-esqe arms at the best of times, even more so when juggling runaway children with one hand plus luggage with the other. A super stylish backpack is always our go to for travelling tiny - don’t underestimate the power of being left hands free!
3. The golden baby monitor stretch
Repeat after us, ‘I will not be a prisoner to my baby’s sleep schedule on holiday’. We highly recommend finding a snoozing set up where babes can rest their heads in their cots, whilst mamas rest theirs sunbathing on loungers. Rooms with outdoor spaces are a godsend - even better are those with a pool, or beach access. It’s worth checking with your accommodation if there are certain rooms with better baby monitor range - to the restaurant, communal pool or beach. Our favourites for this include Le Mas des Oules and Daios Cove.

4. Organisation is key
Navigating your way through an airport as a family can be testing at the best of times. We promise that keeping your hand luggage organised will help you remain sane. Pack passport sleeves to keep your documents safe, a changing clutch for nappies & wipes, a ready-to-go snack bag and easy-to-access changes of clothes for mamas & minis alike. Remember, plane journeys are not the time to be worrying about limiting screen time. Cable Tidies say goodbye to cable chaos.
5. Separate sleep spaces
If your Tiny Traveller is in their own room at home, it’s a good idea to look for places with separate sleeping spaces. This doesn’t need to be a suite with a second bedroom which can massively increase accommodation costs - you can make a nursery out of a walk-in wardrobe or even a super large bathroom!
6. Space save
If there’s one person who doesn’t pack lightly, it’s a tiny traveller with a penchant for multiple outfit (and nappy) changes. In order to save suitcase room for yourself, multi-functional and flat pack items are your new best friend. We love Babymoov's range of pop up UV tents, Kidly’s collapsible bucket and spade, and the Stokke Flexi bath, whilst Stacker’s 2 in 1 Cosmetic & Jewellery bag is heavenset for making sure mamas can fit in all their essentials.

7. Check what's available
Hotels, villas and even Airbnbs are getting savvy to families needs, and are offering a whole range of baby equipment from the standard highchair and cot combo to bottle warmers, sterilisers, baby monitors and toys, meaning you don’t have to pack everything but the kitchen sink. If you’re going on a short break, hand luggage only doesn’t have to be a thing of your parental past. We love Stacker’s weekend bag for its style & space. Almyra and Peligoni both have genius packing services available meaning you can leave all of your own parental paraphernalia at home.
8. Manage your expectations
Travelling with tots in tow is a whole different ball game to holidays a deux. Whilst we’re big believers you don’t need to compromise your holiday style as parents, you may need to adjust the number of sights on your itinerary. Plan for less and enjoy more - with plenty of snacking and playground pit stops in between.
9. Flights can be fun!
Okay fun might be a slight stretch, but there really is no need to fear the flight. Planes act as a giant white noise machine, plus your baby is never as loud as you think - especially when the majority of your neighbours are wearing headphones anyway (remember those days?). Feeding on takeoff and landing can help equalise your baby’s ears, so if you’re formula feeding pack more than you usually would. The novelty of new toys provides a lot of entertainment, especially if wrapped like presents first (Facebook Marketplace, Flying Tiger and local charity shops are great for this).
10. Plan, plan, plan!
Gone are the days where you can rock up at any restaurant or amble through the streets stopping off wherever takes your fancy. There’s nothing worse than being turned away by an adults only establishment when you have a hangry toddler on your hands. Head to Tiny Talk for family friendly destination mini guides, which cover everything from where to stay and play, to snack and snap, all visited & verified by fellow parents.
