Week 1: Streamline your bedside

Why it’s important to Spring clean

Our surroundings have a huge effect on our mindset, and as we’ve discussed many times before, clutter and a disorganised environment can lead to feelings of depression. That is why a good old-fashioned Spring clean is not only good for your home but it’s good for your well-being.

This April we’re going to be sharing a series of before and after organisational photos to help you all on your Spring cleaning journey. Plus, who doesn’t love a bit of organising motivation?

How to Spring clean

If you’re struggling to know where to begin with your Spring cleaning, then you’re not alone. We think it’s super important to start at the beginning. If your house is untidy or cluttered, then it is near impossible to carry out your Spring clean effectively. So, our main advice, declutter and then clean.

The organising process is also the perfect opportunity to rehome some of your less-used possessions. Make sure you’re strict with yourself and your belongings, and as Marie Kondo would say “Does that particular item spark joy in your life?”. If not then take it to the charity shop to allow someone else to enjoy it. If you want to find out more about the Konmari theory, then why not read our blog post 4 Steps To Konmari Your Jewellery.

Once you’ve decluttered your home and organised each area you’ll now be ready to start the cleaning.

Today we’re tackling our bedside table. Who else is guilty of letting their bedside table become their dumping ground at the end of a busy day? There’s no shame in it, we all do it. Whether you’re emptying your pockets or taking off the day’s jewellery, we have ways to help you up your bedside game and make it super easy to maintain your Spring clean sparkle.
